Israeli Bombardment of Gaza Kills Over 125 in a Day, Hospitals Collapse Amid Escalating Assault

Israeli forces have continued their relentless bombardment of Gaza, killing at least 125 Palestinians in a single day, including 36 people in al-Mawasi, a zone previously designated by Israel as a “safe area.”
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, all public hospitals in northern Gaza are now out of service due to the intensified Israeli attacks. The strikes come as Israel prepares for a renewed ground offensive in Gaza, while simultaneously resuming ceasefire negotiations with Hamas in Qatar.
Catastrophic Human Toll
Israel’s war on Gaza, ongoing for more than 19 months, has now killed at least 53,339 Palestinians and wounded 121,034, according to the Health Ministry. However, the Government Media Office reports the death toll has surpassed 61,700, with thousands still missing under the rubble, presumed dead.
By comparison, 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the October 7, 2023 attacks led by Hamas, with over 200 taken captive.
Gaza’s Civil Defence on the Brink
The Gaza Civil Defence announced that three out of four of its emergency vehicles are now out of service, severely limiting their ability to respond to emergencies. In a statement issued via Telegram, the agency said:
“We are experiencing a shortage of essential resources, most critically fuel, heavy rescue equipment, spare parts, and repair supplies.”
They further warned that all vehicle services may stop within 72 hours if fuel is not urgently delivered, as Israel continues to block even minimal fuel access into the besieged enclave.
Widespread Trauma and Societal Collapse
The non-stop air raids have created an environment of constant fear and trauma for Gaza’s civilian population. Even during the previous 42-day ceasefire, civilians continued to die amid continued strikes.
This war is destroying more than buildings — it is tearing apart the fabric of Gazan society. With engineers, doctors, teachers, journalists, and humanitarian workers being killed, the social and professional backbone of Gaza is disintegrating.
Witnesses and officials warn that the situation can only be described as a genocide in progress, as the human and psychological toll on Gaza’s people grows daily.
